What information do we collect? How do we use it?

• when you order, we need to know your name, e-mail address, delivery address, credit or debit card number and the card's expiry date respectively you account and bank code. This allows us to process and fulfil your orders and to notify you of the status of your order.
  
• we also ask for your telephone number which enables us to contact you urgently if there is a problem with your order. For some deliveries this number may be given to our couriers, which enables them to contact you if necessary.
• we also ask for your date of birth when you purchase weapons to verify your age.
• all data you enter you may store in our database by registering as customer.
  
• when you submit a customer review, we also ask for your e-mail address, although you can choose not to have your e-mail address displayed with your review.
  
• when you enter a contest or other promotional feature, we may ask for your name, address and e-mail address so we can administer the contest and notify winners.
  
• we personalise your shopping experience by using your purchases to shape our recommendations about the books, videos and other merchandise that might be of interest to you. We also monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage to help us develop the design and layout of the store.
  
• if you have subscribed to our mailinglist we may also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about important functionality changes to the Web site, new Budoten services.

How does Budoten protect customer information?

When you place orders or access your account information, we offer the use of a secure server. The secure server software (SSL) encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. Furthermore, as required by the German Data Protection Legislation, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we are able to disclose sensitive information to you.

What about "cookies"?

Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. Our cookies your personal login-data. Will Budoten disclose the information it collects to outside parties?

Budoten does not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others. Also, Budoshop-Online may provide aggregate statistics about our customers, sales, traffic patterns and related site information to reputable third-party vendors, but these statistics will include no personally identifying information.

We employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include fulfilling orders, delivering packages, sending postal mail and e-mails, removing repetitive information from customer lists, analysing data, providing marketing assistance, processing credit card payments and providing customer services. Such companies and individuals will have access to personal information needed to perform these functions, but may not use it for any other purposes and are required to process the data in accordance with the German Data Protection legislation.

Confidence of your identity

We occasionally receive inquiries with the objective to disclose the identity of our customers. We don't disclose these data unless we are legally obliged to it.

If state facilities (e.g. law enforcement agencies) transmit summons or a corresponding court decision to us, we follow this. If we receive a resolution or summons of a third party who is not law enforcement agency (e.g. in civil proceedings), we consult the customer directly before by use the to us left data. If we don't receive any reaction of the customer within 10 days, we disclose the identity of the customer unless we are obliged to disclose the data ealier.

Security

Budoten reserves the right, to complete your access to this Web site or every other Budoten Site as well as to the Budoten internet services and remove any contents given by users without reason and without a previous information any time.

Other

We work with sure data networks which are protected with firewalls in the industry standard and passwords. We work with security procedures to protect your data from loss, missing custom or modification.

Only select employees have access to the information which you transmit to us. We have severe guidelines for our employees either who grant the access for the data bases, where the user data are stored or to the servers, where our services are provided. Even if we cannot guarantee the loss, missing custom or the modification of data, we do all technical and organizational sorts of things so anyway to prevent this.
